Welcome to the Website of Cloverfield Community Church.
Cloverfield Community Church is an LEP (Local Ecumenical Project) which was jointly sponsored by the Diocese of Norwich and the United Reformed Church. The church was ‘planted’ in 1992 initially worshipping within a nursery on the Cloverfield Estate. Our purpose built building was put into use in the year 2000.
We have links through the Anglican Church to the churches in the Thetford Team Ministry but more specifically to St. Cuthbert’s and Grace Church which meets at the Bishops Church School on the Abbey Estate. Cloverfield Community Church is also part of the Mid Anglia Group of United Reformed Churches, along with the United Reformed Church in Earls Street, Thetford. We try to hold joint services with our partner churches periodically through the year.
The Thetford Anglican Parish is also twinned with Holmsund Parish in Lulea, Sweden. Our partner church is Solbacka Kyrkan. We have enjoyed exchange visits and remember each other in our prayers.
Our Mission Statement
Cloverfield Church seeks to be:
- A welcoming place where Christ’s love can be seen and experienced
- A united family, caring for one another; worshipping, praying and learning together
- A committed group of God’s followers who bring his words and works to others
- A hub for the local community
We have a prayer team available who have the goal of seeking to provide ways to strengthen and enhance the prayer life of our church. They also seek to provide a safe place for healing and deliverance.
We have two home groups currently, one meets in the afternoon and one in the evening. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. The 4 meeting in the rota is a combined group prayer meeting.
Every Tuesday afternoon – Our over 60s afternoon tea club.
MEN’S DISCIPLESHIP GROUP
This group meet on the evening of the first Thursday of the month. As its title suggests it is a men’s group who spent time studying the Bible and sharing fellowship.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
We support this project led by an International Christian Charity, Samaritan’s Purse. Each year we send a number of shoeboxes filled with gifts to children who would otherwise receive nothing at Christmas. To support this we have a monthly stall selling items to go into shoeboxes to help spread the cost.
